2002 NH QSO Party -
Thanks for taking part! If you missed it this year, here's what it was all
about...
NH QSO Party Invitation to Operate W1WQM -
(from K1RX)
You are cordially invited to participate in the NH QSO Party, either from
your house, or W1WQM (PCARC Club Call) from the K1RX Contest Station site
located in Kensington NH.
K1RX - Location and Directions
K1RX is the home of PCARC member Mark Pride and is conveniently located
on Rt 107. Route 107 is also called South Road in Kensington. Mark
is number 120 South Road which is a yellow house set back from the road a couple
hundred feet - it's at the top of a hill, just look for the mailbox #120.
The house is on the South side of Rt 107. For the compass challenged, that
would be the driver's side (I figure if you don't know N-S-E-W, you might have
trouble with Left and Right!!) when approaching from Rt 95, and the passenger's
side when coming from Rt 125. Whether approaching from the intersection of
Rt 107 at Rt 125, or Rt 107 at Rt 95, K1RX is just about halfway between Rt 125
and Rt 95... about 5 miles from either.
K1RX - Contest Station
The K1RX station is a heck of a lot of fun to operate, so if you'd like
exposure to multiple transmitters and multiple antennas, you are guaranteed a
good time operating, observing, learning, or just kicking back and chatting with
friends who aren't operating at the time. WIth multiple antennas and
multiple rigs, you have a golden opportunity to try equipment you might be
thinking about acquiring. Here's a chance to try before buying!
Also, you can try a slew of home brew antennas... you might change your mind
about spending hundreds and hundreds of dollars for a store bought antenna after
trying one of Mark's home brewed yagis.
Open House Invitation to Operate W1WQM
(from K1RX):
Will have an open house Feb. 1 (7 PM) til Feb. 3 at 7 PM local
time to operate the NH QSO Party under the club call, W1WQM.
All members are welcome to come over, put in some time, have some fun in
a multi-op setup.
The operation time is 48 hours for a club station, individuals can op only
24 hours. BUT, remember to operate from home and submit your score under
the Port City Amateur Radio Club, so the club can get this credit and compete
with the other NH clubs (and hopefully win!). Last year the club put
together a total score of just over 1500 QSO's and nearly all possible
multipliers. If we all get on from home for several hours plus spend some time
at the Club station (K1RX's QTH), this will go a long way towards winning the
overall NH Club award.
Call me if you have any questions - (603) 778 - 1222.
Regards,
Mark, K1RX
